Artificial intelligence dominated discussions at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, with the world’s largest technology companies and most influential leaders highlighting the next phase of AI systems.
Key Details:
2023 featured the technology’s ability to integrate into daily workflows and streamline user productivity.
2024 will focus on improving AI system accuracy and exploring climate-friendly power options for training billion-parameter models to reduce costs.
Intel’s CEO, Pat Gelsinger, explained: “This next phase of AI will be about building formal correctness into the underlying models.”
Whether it’s doctors leveraging AI models for diagnoses or warehouses using AI systems to monitor assembly line malfunctions, humans must become comfortable with the technology’s accuracy.
Why It’s Important:
Three phases of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) will guide adoption:
Actively using the technology to assist with work.
Monitoring query outputs to ensure accuracy.
Trusting the technology on autopilot.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman added: “It’s an incredible tool for productivity that magnifies what humans do, but it’ll get better and do parts of jobs.”

📦Amazon’s New Chatbot Answers Product Questions

Amazon announced a new product chatbot to answer shopper’s questions about product details.
Key Details:
The new chatbot is available to select Amazon users in the mobile app. Consumers are prompted to ask open-ended questions on product pages about shipping, sizing, or return policies.
The chatbot responds in seconds by gathering product reviews and item details from the listing itself.
Amazon public relations coordinator Maria Boschetti stated: “We’re currently testing new features powered by generative AI to improve shopping by helping customers get answers to product questions quicker.”
Why It’s Important:
This feature prevents shoppers from scrolling through pages of reviews or reading through a listing to find specific details about policies and packaging.
Unlike OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Amazon’s chatbot isn’t equipped to converse. It simply describes items and the distribution logistics, like shipping and packaging.
