Google announced tons of new AI stuff at Google Cloud Next 2025. It can be challenging to keep track of all of it. So, we did it for you!
Key Details:
Gemini 2.5 Flash: A small, compact, and cost-efficient multimodal AI model with reasoning capabilities across text, images, audio, video, and code.
Firebase Studio: Leverages Agentic AI to accelerate how developers build, test, deploy, and run AI Applications.
Vertex AI Upgrades: Helps developers manage the entire lifecycle of building, training, and deploying advanced AI models. The upgrades include video-editing controls for Veo 2, music creation with Lyria, and custom voice creation with Chirp 3.
Agent2Agent (A2A): A new open protocol that helps AI Agents securely collaborate across platforms, enabling complex enterprise workflows to be fully automated.
Ironwood: A seventh-generation Tensor Processing Unit (TPU) designed to accelerate the training of advanced AI models. It delivers 42.5 Exaflops per Pod when each Pod (i.e., a group of TPUs working together) contains 9,216 Ironwood TPUs, resulting in 24x more compute power than the world’s largest supercomputer.
Why It’s Important:
Google’s creating an AI ecosystem that equips Google Workspace to securely automate enterprise workflows across teams, tools, and platforms.
“In 2025, we plan to invest around $75 billion in Capital Expenditures (CapEx),” explained Google CEO Sundar Pichai. This investment will support hiring AI talent, building AI infrastructure, and acquiring cutting-edge GPUs.

🏆Meta Caught Gaming Benchmarks for Llama 4

Image Source: Canva’s AI Image Generators/Magic Media
Meta recently unveiled Llama 4 Maverick, which doesn’t perform as well as they claimed.
Key Details:
They claimed that Llama 4 Maverick outperformed OpenAI’s GPT-4o (“o” for “omni”) and Google’s Gemini 2.0 Flash by achieving an ELO Score of 1417 on the LMArena Chatbot Arena Leaderboard (LMArenaCAL).
The LMArenaCAL is a benchmark where humans compare outputs from different multimodal AI models and vote on the best ones. A higher ELO Score means the multimodal AI model consistently generates better outputs.
But the version of Llama 4 Maverick Meta tested in the LMArenaCAL wasn’t the same as the publicly available version. Instead, they used an “experimental chat version optimized for conversationally.”
Why It’s Important:
The LMArenaCAL team posted on X that Meta should’ve clarified that Llama-4-Maverick-03-26-Experimental was optimized for human preference or specially designed to perform well on LMArenaCAL.
“The vibes around Llama 4 so far are decidedly mid,” said Independent AI Researcher Simon Willison. In other words, developers are underwhelmed by it.
