😳Amazon Invests Another $4 Billion Into Anthropic
Amazon is investing another $4 billion into Anthropic to gain a competitive edge in AI offerings over Google, Meta, and Microsoft.
Key Details:
As part of the agreement, Anthropic will exclusively use Amazon Web Services (AWS) as the company’s primary cloud provider.
Anthropic will also exclusively use AWS’s Tranium2 to power AI workloads and support AI model training.
Anthropic reportedly prefers Nvidia’s H100 Tensor Core GPUs, but the company is projected to burn through more than $2.7 billion in 2024. So, the money was too good to pass up.
Why It’s Important:
This move comes after massive fundraising rounds from various AI labs. OpenAI officially secured over $6.6 billion, and xAI has raised over $11 billion.
AI labs such as xAI, OpenAI, and Anthropic, alongside Tech Giants such as Amazon, Google, Microsoft, and Meta, are competing to ensure they don’t fall behind in a market predicted to reach $1 trillion in revenue by 2032.

Developers discovered strings of code in OpenAI’s latest ChatGPT beta rollout that shows a new “Live Camera” feature.
Key Details:
The strings of code revealed a “Live Camera” feature that allows ChatGPT to process real-time video from a device’s camera. So, how does it work?
Imagine you’re trying to identify a plant in your garden. So, you enable the “Live Camera” feature in ChatGPT and point your device’s camera at the plant.
Then, ChatGPT analyzes the plant’s leaf shape, flower color, and stem structure to provide an answer for you.
During OpenAI’s Spring Update, the company teased the “Live Camera” feature by showing ChatGPT’s Advanced Voice Mode meet a dog named Bowser.
Why It’s Important:
During Google I/O 2024, Google DeepMind unveiled “Project Astra,” an AI agent that leverages a smartphone’s camera to locate missing glasses and review code.
