đAmazonâs Custom Generative AI Chips
Amazon is developing two types of microchips for training and accelerating AI models.
These custom chips, Inferentia and Trainium, allow AWS customers to train their Large Language Models (LLMs) without relying on Nvidia GPUs.
Adam Selipsky, Amazon Web Services CEO, said: âWeâre in a better position than anybody else on Earth to supply the capacity our customers will collectively want.â
Amazon has invested over $100M to battle OpenAI, Microsoft, and Google in the generative AI race.
Why Itâs Important:
Hardware is funneling into these massive corporate projects. Recently, Inflection AI developed an $880M supercomputer equipped with 22,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs.
Nvidia is struggling to maintain a consistent supply of processors to meet corporate demand. This market dynamic is making it difficult and expensive to obtain Nvidia hardware.
Amazonâs greatest advantage is that AWS is already used by millions of customers who access their tools and rely on their servers. Implementing custom chips could provide an affordable and convenient alternative for businesses developing AI models.

MetaGPT, a multi-agent framework, has gained popularity on Github with 20,000 stars. It connects several programs to collaborate and reduce code generation or documentation errors.
The program assigns specialized agents, like hired experts, to work on different parts of the problem separately.
Hereâs an example of how MetaGPT created a Flappy Bird game with simple text prompts in minutes.

This AI model can fulfill the routine tasks of product managers, architects, and engineers.
