💻 Asking Third-Party Contractors to Submit Real Work

OpenAI’s tapping into the real work of third-party contractors, raising eyebrows about privacy rights and proprietary data.
Key Details:
OpenAI reportedly asked third-party contractors to submit real work from previous job roles, even leaving it to them to strip out confidential materials and personally identifiable information. The initiative is intended to support OpenAI’s efforts to establish real-world corporate evaluation metrics.
According to the leaked internal documents, OpenAI believes “real-world, economically valuable tasks” consist of (1) a task request: the instructions given by a boss, and (2) a task deliverable: the real work produced in response to those instructions.
Why It’s Important:
Most high-quality training datasets will be fully utilized between 2026 and 2032. By asking third-party contractors to submit real work from previous job roles, OpenAI collects extremely valuable domain-specific data capturing complex, multi-step workplace workflows.
If the data’s actually valuable, it’s likely because it encodes real proprietary assets: client context, negotiation tactics, and execution playbooks. OpenAI technically “avoids fault” because it delegates responsibility to the third-party contractors to strip out confidential materials, but that doesn’t fully eliminate legal risk.
META
🎰 Meta’s $600 Billion Bet on Nuclear Energy

Meta officially became one of the largest corporate purchasers of nuclear energy in American history.
Key Details:
The social media giant announced a series of landmark nuclear energy deals with Oklo Inc., Vistra Corp., and TerraPower to secure up to 6.6 GW of clean power by 2035.
It’s all part of Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s broader push to invest roughly $600 billion in AI infrastructure across the U.S. over the next three years. This series of landmark nuclear energy deals will help power “Prometheus,” a large-scale data center located in New Albany, OH, designed to deliver at least 1 GW of clean power by the end of 2026.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman recently invested in nuclear fission microreactor startup Oklo Inc., which specializes in SMRs: transportable nuclear reactors built in factories and shipped to facilities for installation.
Why It’s Important:
The global supply of electricity is struggling to keep up with Big Tech companies and their demand for computing power. AI is projected to consume 606 TWh annually in the U.S. by 2030, a staggering 240% increase within six years. For context, that’s more than the annual electricity consumption of entire countries, like Germany and Australia.
While nuclear power’s history is far from spotless, technological advances have made it much safer and much more powerful. More importantly, it’s a cost-efficient energy source that operates 24/7.
