Bubble announced a new AI-powered Deception Detector feature to help identify spam, scams, and fake profiles.
Key Details:
The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) reported that romance scams cost victims $1.3 billion in 2022, with a median reported loss of $4,400.
Internal Bumble research discovered that 46% of women expressed anxiety over the authenticity of their online partners on dating apps.
Bumble CEO Lidiane Jones explained: “Bumble Inc. was founded to build equitable relationships and empower women to make the first move. Deception Detector helps ensure that connections made on our apps are genuine.”
Deception Detector operates alongside Bumble’s human moderating team to take action against malicious content before users engage with it.

Bumble Friends also launched AI-powered icebreaker suggestions to help users send tailored messages based on profiles.
Deception Detector reduces online scams, increases user trust and safety, reduces anxiety and uncertainty, and encourages confident interactions.

To build a Hugging Face Assistant you need:
Name, Avatar, and Description

A Custom System Message to Control the Behavior
