Key Details:
This feature is provided by Trendii, a company that leverages AI to turn “image and video content into instant shopping experiences.”
It’s a great concept when applied to images of celebrities like Ryan Gosling during interviews, movie scenes, or red carpet events.
It allows anyone to find the cool sweater Gosling wore on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
However, comments on BuzzFeed articles over the past year indicate the “Shop This Image” feature has appeared over images of tragedies, gruesome crimes, and graphic medical procedures.

Scientists at Arc Institute developed “Evo,” the first biological Foundation Model trained on DNA to predict and design genetic sequences.
Key Details:
A Foundation Model is an AI model trained on massive amounts of diverse data so it can be applied across a wide range of use cases.
While other AI models are trained on text, “Evo” learns from the information encoded within DNA, enabling “Evo” to generate DNA Sequences of over one million Bases.
A DNA Sequence is a specific order of the four nucleotides that make up a strand of DNA: Adenine (A), Thymine (T), Guanine (G), and Cytosine (C).
A Base is one of the four nucleotides. So, a sequence of one million Bases is a very long sequence of genetic information.
This ability allows “Evo” to analyze existing DNA Sequences to generate new and functional DNA Sequences.
Why It’s Important:
DNA holds the genetic blueprint for life itself, allowing scientists to assess an individual’s genetic susceptibility to specific diseases, diagnose genetic disorders, and formulate new drugs.
“Just as AI models have revolutionized how we work with text, image, audio, video, and code, these same creative capabilities can now be applied to life’s fundamental codes,” said Patrick Hsu, Arc Institute’s Innovation Investigator.

Microsoft AI CEO Mustafa Suleyman revealed that his developers have created an AI system with “near-infinite memory” that remembers everything you’ve ever discussed.
“AI will become a friend that’s always at your side, acting as a second brain,” he said. “Think of it as a conversational companion that you can ask any question anytime at your own pace.”
Suleyman expects “near-infinite memory” to be available by 2025, enabling developers to create AI systems that “just don’t forget” with ongoing, evolving dialogues.
He believes “near-infinite memory” will be an inflection point in AI developments by transforming reactive conversational chatbots into proactive conversational companions with more profound insights.
Suleyman also suggests that as AI systems gain voice, memory, and personality, as well as the ability to understand references, emotions, and context, the traditional barriers between humans and computers will slowly fade.
