🎮Microsoft’s New AI Characters for Xbox
Microsoft is partnering with Inworld AI to develop Xbox tools that enable developers to create AI-powered characters, stories, and quests.
Key Details:
The multi-year partnership includes an AI designer copilot system that Xbox developers can leverage to generate detailed scripts, dialogue trees, and quest lines.
Inworld AI specializes in AI NPCs that react to questions from a player and respond in unique voices, similar to how OpenAI’s ChatGPT or Microsoft’s Bing Chat responds to natural language queries.
Haiyan Zhang, General Manager of Gaming AI at Xbox, explained: “This partnership will bring together Inworld AI’s expertise in working with generative AI models for character development and Microsoft’s cutting-edge cloud-based AI solutions.”

The emergence of Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative AI has unlocked new opportunities for storytelling and character engagement within games like procedural generation.

⚙️ChatGPT Upgrades Revealed at OpenAI’s DevDay
ChatGPT upgrades were revealed at OpenAI’s DevDay event yesterday, including custom chatbot building, external app integration, and improved subscription tiers.
Key Details:
Gizmo V8, the latest prototype of ChatGPT, boasts a fresh and upgraded user interface with a comprehensive feature set, including a Sandbox for importing, testing, and enhancing existing chatbots.
GPT Builder allows users to personalize and distribute their AI assistants or produce new customized chatbots with names, descriptions, custom directives, conversation prompts, and files like Code Interpreter.
A new feature called “Context Connectors” enables ChatGPT to connect with external apps such as Microsoft 365 and Google Drive.
OpenAI also added speed boosts to GPT-4 capabilities, a DALL-E 3 Applications Programming Interface (API), and open-source options for GPT-3.
