Cloudflare just unveiled “pay per crawl,” which prevents AI Crawlers from gathering your content without consent or compensation to train advanced AI models.

Key Details:

• It enables content creators to set up three distinct options:

  1. Allow: Grant AI Crawlers free access to your content.

  2. Charge: Require AI Crawlers to pay for your content.

  3. Block: Deny AI Crawlers access to your content entirely.

• More importantly, content creators retain the flexibility to bypass certain charges for specific AI Crawlers.

• This flexibility matters because it allows content creators to negotiate and execute tailored content partnerships directly with AI firms.

Why It’s Important:

• In June 2025, Anthropic’s crawl-to-referral ratio was 73,000:1. For every 73,000 web pages scraped by Anthropic’s AI Crawlers, the original website gained just one visitor in return.

• This issue has only gotten worse. Earlier this year, an anonymous coder developed a clever program to trap AI Crawlers using a never-ending maze of URLs.

Helmholtz Munich recently developed “Centaur,” which accurately simulates and predicts human behavior.

Key Details:

• It’s a foundation model trained on massive amounts of general data so it can be applied to a wide range of use cases related to human cognition.

• It was trained using “Psych-101,” a large-scale dataset of 60,092 humans who made 10,681,650 decisions across 160 psychological experiments.

• For example, suppose you’re given $50 and must choose between:

  2. 💸Option B: Taking a 50/50 gamble to win $100 or lose it all.

• It outperformed 14 traditional cognitive models on 31 out of 32 cognitive challenges, including memory recall, risky decisions, and common problem-solving.

• “Centaur” leverages Deep Learning (DL) to mimic the human brain by creating multiple layers of “artificial” neurons.

• When compared to Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), the “artificial” neurons closely matched the brain activity of humans performing the same cognitive challenges.
