😳Early Testers Leak OpenAI’s Sora!

A group of early testers leaked OpenAI’s Sora to spread awareness about the company using hundreds of artists as “PR Puppets” without pay.
Key Details:
In February, OpenAI teased Sora, a text-to-video AI model that converts text prompts into hyperrealistic short films.
Angel Investor and All-In Podcast Host David Friedberg explained: “What’s amazing about Sora is that it renders the rules of physics, motion, and perspective with a reduced amount of compute.” In other words, software is writing itself.
On Tuesday, a group of early testers leaked OpenAI’s Sora in an upload on Hugging Face, briefly explaining why they’re doing this.
“Hundreds of artists provide unpaid labor through bug testing, feedback surveys, and experimental work for a company valued at $150 billion.”
“Every output needs to be approved by OpenAI before it can be shared. This early access program is less about creative expression and more about PR.”
Why It’s Important:
The OpenAI phrase for 2024 is “another day, another OpenAI leak.” However, this leak doesn’t seem to be another one of OpenAI’s Guerrilla Marketing strategies .
OpenAI quickly shut it down within three hours and muted members on the company’s official Discord Server for talking about the “Sora Leak Topic.”

Key Details:
“OLMo 2” was developed start-to-finish with accessible training datasets, open-source training code, and transparent evaluations.
“OLMo 2” was trained with over 5 trillion Tokens. Tokens represent bits of raw data; 1 million tokens equals roughly 750,000 words.
The training datasets include websites, academic papers, Q&A discussion boards, and math workbooks.
“OLMo 2” excels at creating different kinds of creative content, like poems, scripts, emails, letters, and code.
Why It’s Important:
“By openly sharing our data, recipes, and findings, we hope to” challenge researchers and developers around the world to inspect, modify, and improve “OLMo 2.”
Open-source AI developments enable researchers and developers to build upon each other’s projects, leading to more rapid progress and fostering technical breakthroughs.

Rideshare service Uber launched “Scaled Solutions,” a new division that offers Uber’s data labeling, testing methods, and localization frameworks to businesses.
Uber is making an effort to offer high-quality data labeling services to Tech Giants to support their AI initiatives, such as robotics and self-driving cars.
The new division aims to improve AI models by improving the data they’re trained on. In other words, better data leads to better AI models.
So, why’s Uber suddenly offering this? Providing high-quality data-labeling services is more lucrative than ever due to the sudden rise of AI applications. Uber is trying to gain a piece of this growing market. For example, Scale AI, which offers similar services, recently raised a $1 billion Series F at a $13.8 billion valuation.
