Elon Musk’s xAI upgraded the speed, accuracy, and transparency of “Grok-2 mini.”
Key Details:
“Grok-2 mini” is an affordable Small Language Model (SLM) that requires fewer computational resources to answer user queries.
“Grok-2 mini” is now twice as fast with rewritten AI inference stacks using SGLang.
AI inference stacks are how developers run data through trained AI models to make predictions or solve tasks.
SGLang is a system that efficiently executes AI model programs. It consists of a Frontend and a Runtime:
Frontend: simplifies programming with built-in functions.
Runtime: accelerates storing, accessing, and processing data.
“Grok-2” and “Grok-2 mini” are now part of the LMSYS Chatbot Arena Leaderboard for increased transparency.
“Grok-2 mini” scores 86.2% on the Massive Multitask Language Understanding (MMLU) benchmark, which covers 16,000 questions from 57 academic disciplines.
