đŁGoogle Cloud Next 2024: Everything Announced So Far

Image Source: Manuel Lopez/World Economic Forum
Googleâs Cloud Next 2024 event announced several new cloud-focused and AI-centric products, including Google Vids, a Gemini Code Assistant, and a Vertex AI Agent Builder.
Key Details:
Donât have time to watch Googleâs keynote event? Hereâs everything you need to know:
Google Vids: a new AI-fueled video creation tool to develop videos within Workspaces like Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
Gemini Code Assistant: an enterprise-focused AI code completion and assistance tool rivaling GitHubâs Copilot Enterprise.
Google Workspace: an AI-based âHelp Me Writeâ feature in Gmail that instantly turns rough email drafts into a more polished email.
Imagen 2: an enhanced image-generating tool with a âtext-to-live imagesâ feature that creates short, four-second videos.
Vertex AI Agent Builder: a new tool that helps companies build conversational AI agents for specific use cases.
Google is also developing a custom-built ARM-based CPU called âAxionâ to make cloud computing more affordable for developers.
Why Itâs Important:
The three constraints for AI hardware include chain supply, voltage transformer supply, and electricity availability. Googleâs âAxionâ processor could make cloud computing for AI developers more affordable, leading to more efficient hardware utilization to reduce the three AI hardware constraints.

đMeta Confirms Llama 3?!

Image Source: Canva AI Image Generator
Meta plans an initial release of Llama 3, the companyâs next-generation Large Language Model (LLM) used to power GenAI assistants, within the next month.
Key Details:
Meta will launch several versions of Llama 3 with various capabilities to benefit specific use cases for consumers, developers, and enterprises.
The company didnât disclose Llama 3âs parameter counts, but itâs expected to reach 140 billion parameters and rival OpenAIâs GPT-4. In comparison, Meta Llama 2âs largest size was 70 billion parameters.
Higher parameter counts generally mean AI models are more capable of learning from the data but require increased training time and computational resources.
Why Itâs Important:
Meta has stockpiled over 350,000 of Nvidiaâs Tensor Core H100 GPUs over the last year to strengthen AI infrastructure, allowing the social media giant to gain a competitive edge in computing power.
Metaâs versions of Llama 3 offer multiple options for different users: consumers (e.g., smart virtual assistants), developers (e.g., building AI-powered applications), and enterprises (e.g., large-scale data analysis).
AI RESEARCH
đIntelâs Gaudi 3 AI Accelerator Chip
Intel unveiled Gaudi 3, an accelerator chip that provides comprehensive AI strategies for enterprises with open and scalable systems that work across all AI segments.
Intelâs Gaudi 3 boasts 50% greater inference (i.e., running live data through a trained AI model to make predictions or solve tasks) and 40% better power efficiency than Nvidiaâs H100 Tensor Core GPUs.
