🥪Doordash Debuts AI Voice Ordering

DoorDash, a food delivery platform, launched an AI-powered voice ordering system that answers calls and provides customers with curated recommendations.

Key Details:

  • According to the company’s 2023 Restaurant Ordering Trends Report, one in five customers prefer ordering takeout via the phone—but 50% of customer calls currently go unanswered, resulting in potential revenue losses.

  • Rajat Shroff, Head of Product and Design at DoorDash, explained: “Customers expect more from restaurants, and in return, restaurateurs expect technology-forward solutions from us like phone channels.”
