✨Google Releases Bard Extensions
Google recently launched Bard Extensions, a new way to interact with Bard. With Extensions, Bard can navigate and locate relevant information from everyday Google tools like Gmail, Docs, Drive, Google Maps, and YouTube.
Key Details:
Bard can pull relevant information from users’ workspace apps like Gmail, Docs, and Maps to provide tailored responses for Bard prompts.
For example, suppose you’re planning a trip to the Grand Canyon. You can ask Bard to coordinate available times among friend groups through Gmail, access real-time flights and hotel information, or watch a YouTube video on hiking equipment.
The “Google it” feature authenticates prompt responses to reduce hallucinations. When you press the “G” button, Bard will read the response and evaluate whether there is content across the internet to substantiate it.
The new features are possible with Google’s updated PaLM 2 model, which leverages in-depth coding assistance to improve response quality and accuracy.

📦Amazon Reveals New AI Features For Alexa
During a press event at its HQ2 headquarters, Amazon revealed several new AI features to enhance existing product offerings for Alexa users.
Key Details:
Amazon demoed Map View, an upcoming feature in the Alexa mobile app that allows customers to create a digital map of their house to pin and manage devices. Users can control, monitor, and add new widgets from Map View.
Charlie French, Director of Smart Home at Amazon, explained: “Today, millions of customers have more than 20 devices connected to Alexa. It can be difficult to manage that many devices.”
Amazon is testing a generative AI model to power improved experiences across its Echo family of devices.
This new model will enhance conversational experiences that interpret body language, eye contact, and gestures. It’ll interact with Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to broaden Alexa’s personality.

These updates present quality-of-life improvements for customers who rely on Alexa to manage and control their smart home ecosystem.
These new features allow Amazon Home products to access more user data, raising privacy concerns. Amazon emphasized that Map View is an opt-in, not opt-out, service that enables customers to control floor plan options and regulate privacy across bedrooms.
