⚡️How AI’s Leading a Quiet Energy Revolution
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently announced that he’s investing hundreds of billions of dollars to build massive data centers.
Key Details:
In 2026, Meta plans to launch “Prometheus,” a large data center located in New Albany, OH.
It’s designed to deliver over 1 GW of computing power. For context, that’s roughly equivalent to the electricity consumed by 875,000 homes.
In 2030, Meta plans to launch “Hyperion,” a massive data center located in Richland Parish, LA.
It’s built to supply over 2 Gigawatts (GW) of computing power. For context, that’s roughly equivalent to the electricity consumed by 1,750,000 homes.
So, where’s Meta storing all this computing power? They’re literally setting up temporary tents for data center capacity while permanent facilities are still under construction.
So, how’s Meta supporting all this computing power? They just signed a historic 20-year deal to buy nuclear energy from the Clinton Clean Energy Center starting in 2027. “Constellation” will provide roughly 1.1 GW of continuous nuclear energy around the clock for Meta.
Why It’s Important:
In many regions, the power grid infrastructure isn’t designed to handle the sudden surge in energy consumption from advanced AI models. As a result, Tech Giants are investing hundreds of billions of dollars into nuclear power because it’s a stable, cost-efficient energy source offering continuous energy output. In other words, nuclear power operates 24×7.
While nuclear power’s history is far from spotless, technological advances have made it much safer and much more powerful. Tech Giants are bullish on Small Modular Reactors (SMRs): smaller, more efficient nuclear reactors designed to be built in factories and shipped to facilities for installation.

🌯Robotic Restaurants and AI Burritos?!
Uber co-founder Travis Kalanick recently discussed “Cloud Kitchens,” his new venture focused on food automation and fully robotic restaurants.
Key Details:
Imagine ordering a burrito bowl from Chipotle through DoorDash. In Kalanick’s world, your order doesn’t funnel into an assembly line of hurried employees who give you too much white rice or barely any chicken.
Instead, it’s redirected to a conveyor line of automated machines, where a small, white, brick-like carrier guides your burrito bowl beneath a series of dispensers. Each dispenser drops a perfectly measured portion of white rice, black beans, chicken, guacamole, and cheese.
Then, your burrito bowl is sauced, lidded, and placed in a sealed bag, which is given to an Automated Guided Vehicle (AGV) that transfers it to a temperature-controlled locker.
When the Dasher arrives to pick up your order, they simply wave their credentials, and the correct temperature-controlled locker opens.
Kalanick calls his vision the “autonomous burrito,” and it’s designed to eliminate the most labor-intensive parts of fast-casual restaurants, significantly cutting operational costs.
Why It’s Important:
Kalanick believes the “autonomous burrito” is the future of fast-casual restaurants, as personalized robot-made meals become cheaper than groceries.
In traditional brick-and-mortar restaurants, 35% of the money earned from selling food is spent on covering labor costs. With the “autonomous burrito,” labor costs plummet to just 7%.
