Amazon Prime Video is adding new on-screen statistics for viewers this NFL season through AI models analyzing conversions, possessions, and play calls.

Key Details:

  • If a team is rallying during a late-game drive, viewers will notice a graphic explaining if the team should pursue a fourth-down play call.

  • When a Quarterback (QB) snaps the ball, the broadcast automatically highlights open receivers down the field.

  • The field will display highlighted lines presenting a kicker’s field goal range and percentage of converting at a given spot.

  • Amazon trained a Machine Learning Model (MLM) on 35,000 plays from previous seasons to determine whether a defender would likely blitz on a particular possession.

  • This data will be available on Amazon’s secondary broadcast called “Prime Vision.”
