👟 Meta Re-Enters the AI Reasoning Race With a Bang

Meta introduced “Muse Spark,” a natively multimodal AI model designed to deliver frontier-level intelligence across text, images, audio, and video.
Key details:
It’s available in two modes:
💬 Instant Mode: It’s built to strike a balance between speed and accuracy, delivering quick explanations for everyday, general knowledge.
💭 Thinking Mode: It’s built to mimic a human’s decision-making abilities, delivering multi-step reasoning for real-world, professional use.
By nearly tripling performance, “Muse Spark” now sits within striking distance of the AI industry’s most elite frontier AI models, showcasing dominance in “multimodal reasoning” and the ability to launch “multiple subagents in parallel” when answering everyday questions.
It’s purpose-built to prioritize people by powering Meta AI across Instagram, Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp, Threads, and AI Glasses. Whether you’re chatting with friends, discovering new content creators, or exploring the world through wearable tech, it delivers context-aware support that’s intuitive, personal, and always within reach.
Key takeaways:
In June 2025, Meta finalized a $14.3 billion all-cash deal to acquire a 49% stake in Scale AI, with Scale AI CEO Alexandr Wang being recruited to lead MSL, focused on developing machines capable of thinking and reasoning in ways generally smarter than humans.
To support MSL, Meta’s been poaching top-tier AI researchers by offering pay packages of up to $300 million. For instance, 24-year-old AI researcher Matt Deitke was given $250 million in stock and cash over four years, with $100 million guaranteed within the first year. “Muse Spark” is the first release from this elite group of AI researchers.
🔍 So, How Accurate Are Google’s AI Overviews?

Looking for answers on Google Search means confronting AI-generated summaries that allegedly tell millions of lies per hour.
Key details:
They found that “AI Overviews,” which aim to generate clear, concise, and complete summaries at the top of Google Search results, correctly answered 85% of search queries when powered by Gemini 2 and 91% of search queries when powered by Gemini 3.
While accuracy improved, verifiability actually got worse. With Gemini 3, 56% of correct answers were ungrounded, meaning the sources cited in the “AI Overviews” didn’t fully back the claims made throughout the AI-generated summaries.
Key takeaways:
The Pew Research Center examined 900 U.S. adults who performed 68,879 search queries on Google Search, finding that “AI Overviews” caused nearly a 50% reduction in website clicks. In other words, we’re less likely to click when AI-generated summaries pop up because we take them at face value.
Google Search processes about 16.4 billion search queries per day. Of those, around 3.36 billion trigger “AI Overviews,” meaning even the 9% error rate translates to millions of wrong answers per hour. That’s a major issue if true!
