At the World Government Summit in Dubai, Nvidia CEO Jason Huang claimed streamlining AI developments will require far less capital than Altman’s proposed $7 trillion semiconductor factories.
Key Details:
Huang expects advanced AI chips to become increasingly better, faster, cheaper, and safer. So, future projects like Altman’s $7 trillion semiconductor factories to reduce computational constraints on AI developments will require far less funding.
Huang advised all countries to leverage cultural data and build “Sovereign AI.” In other words, “data is the new oil,” and governments should invest in constructing their data infrastructures.
Nvidia also released a tool that enables owners of GeForce RTX 30 Series cards to run an AI-powered chatbot offline on a Windows PC.
Called Chat with RTX, the tool allows users to construct GenAI models through documents, files, and notes.
Why It’s Important:
Huang is incentivized to build Nvidia’s market cap and suggest “data is the new oil” because it provides massive business opportunities with countries.
Nvidia anticipates a shift to efficiency over compute. When it comes to AI models, bigger isn’t always better.
Algorithmic improvements are the primary factor in AI advancements. OpenAI’s research on AI and efficiency revealed that, relative to 2012, it “now takes 44X less compute to train a neural network.”

🔐ChatGPT’s New Memory Control Feature

OpenAI launched a new ChatGPT feature that allows users to tell the chatbot if it should remember things they discuss to make future chats more helpful.
Key Details:
OpenAI is testing a memory feature with ChatGPT that remembers things you discussed across all chats to reduce repeating information and make future conversations more helpful.
Users are in control of ChatGPT’s memory and can turn it off at any time (i.e., “Settings > Personalization > Memory”).
OpenAI is rolling out this feature to a small portion of ChatGPT free and Plus users this week to examine its usefulness.
Why It’s Important:
If users prefer more privacy, they can use Temporary Chat. Temporary chats “won’t appear in history, won’t use memory, and won’t be used to train” OpenAI’s models.
ChatGPT’s memory gets better the more you engage with it. For example, the chatbot will recognize that you prefer meeting notes to have headlines.

While some workers fear how AI models will impact their jobs, many college students believe the technology provides a career edge.
The chief legal officer at Handshake, Valerie Capers Workman, explained: “They see it as an opportunity to be on the cutting edge of a transformational technology.”
48% of “Baby Zoomers” feel AI advancements will advance their careers by providing faster knowledge access.
LinkedIn experienced a 75% monthly increase in AI skills added to Gen Z profiles in 2023.
So-called “AI natives,” or students learning about AI, may have a competitive edge over older “digital natives.”
