Lepton AI operates as a “GPU Sub-Landlord,” which means they rent Cutting-Edge GPUs from existing Cloud Providers like AWS or Microsoft Azure. Then, they sublease these Cutting-Edge GPUs to startups with their own GPU Infrastructure to optimize for Efficient Compute.

This move is part of NVIDIA’s push into the Cloud and Enterprise Software Market. So, why’s NVIDIA interested in providing more than AI Hardware?

The main challenge for NVIDIA is that their customers want to compete with them because they can’t afford to keep paying premium prices for the chipmaker’s Cutting-Edge GPUs. For example, Microsoft went from spending less than 10% of the company’s Capital Expenditures (CapEx) on NVIDIA to nearly 40%. That’s not sustainable long-term.

Acquiring Lepton AI would strengthen NVIDIA’s position in the Cloud and Enterprise Software Market, giving the chipmaker more control over the distribution and utilization of their Cutting-Edge GPUs.

NVIDIA also reportedly acquired Gretel last week, a startup that generates synthetic training data for AI Systems and AI Agents.

“Gemini 2.5 Pro” is designed to handle more complex tasks that require multi-step reasoning. It achieves this by breaking down these more complex tasks into smaller parts, examining those smaller parts, and synthesizing a response.

It can analyze information, draw logical conclusions, and incorporate context to make informed decisions by leveraging Reinforcement Learning (RL) and Chain-of-Thought (CoT) techniques.

“Gemini 2.5 Pro” boasts a 1M Token Context Window that supports text, images, audio, video, and code. Tokens are the smallest units of data used to process and generate text. The bigger the Context Window, the more information an advanced AI model can remember when generating a response to a user query (i.e., “prompt”).

Gemini-2.5-Pro-Exp-03-25 has claimed the top spot on the LMArena Chatbot Arena Leaderboard, which collects over 1,000,000 community votes that measure quality, usability, and compatibility across conversational chatbots to crowdsource ranking.

It scored 63.8% accuracy on the SWE-Bench Verified benchmark, which evaluates an advanced AI model’s ability to resolve real-world GitHub issues. It also scored 84.0% accuracy on the Graduate-Level Google-Proof Q&A (GPQA) benchmark, which involves 448 multiple-choice questions crafted by domain experts in biology, physics, and chemistry.
