📊Nvidia’s Next-Generation AI Chip Platform

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang unveiled the company’s “Project G-Assist” gaming assistant and next-generation AI chip platform called “Rubin” at COMPUTEX 2024.

Key Details:

  • Huang announced “Rubin,” the company’s next-generation AI chip platform, which is expected to be released in 2026. An “Ultra Rubin” version is planned for 2027.

  • It’s named after Vera Rubin, an American astronomer who pioneered work on galaxy rotation rates and helped develop our understanding of dark matter.

  • “Rubin” features 8 stacks of Fourth-Generation High Bandwidth Memory (HBM4), which offers faster data access with lower energy consumption.

  • HBM4 utilizes multiple Dynamic Random-Access Memory (DRAM) to create a compact design with shorter data paths. These shorter data paths reduce power consumption and streamline communication, helping computers run efficiently.

  • Nvidia also showed off “Project G-Assist,” an AI gaming assistant that provides context-aware help and personalized responses for PC games.

  • The company also introduced “ACE,” a suite of AI services that simplify the creation of digital avatars for customer service use cases.

Scale AI’s SEAL Research Lab launched SEAL Leaderboard, an expert-driven ranking system for Large Language Models (LLMs), to address the growing need for neutral and trustworthy evaluations of AI models.

The SEAL Leaderboard ranks LLMs using curated private datasets that cannot be manipulated. These evaluations are conducted by verified domain experts, ensuring the rankings are unbiased and accurately measure AI model performance. Each domain expert develops expansive prompts tailored to evaluate the performance in that specific domain.
