OpenAI partnered with healthcare company Color Health to make cancer detection more accessible, convenient, and cost-effective.
Key Details:
Color Health’s AI assistant analyzes patient data and cross-references medical records to create tailored cancer treatment plans.
Color Health’s AI assistant is powered by OpenAI’s GPT-4o (“o” for “omni”): an AI model that can reason across audio, vision, and text to present more natural human-computer interaction.
OpenAI follows the Health Insurance and Accountability Act (HIPPA) to ensure the safety and security of patient data.
Color Health CEO Othman Laraki explained that the company’s vision is “to make cancer expertise accessible when it can have the greatest impact on a patient’s healthcare decision.”
Color Health will offer AI-generated screening plans for over 200,000 patients by 2025.

Screenings, diagnosis, and treatment for cancer are complex and time-consuming. On average, patients who experience treatment delays up to four weeks face a 13% higher risk of mortality.
