OpenAI launched a new cost-effective small AI model called āGPT-4o miniā to make advanced AI capabilities more accessible, affordable, and scalable.
Key Details:
āGPT-4o miniā scored 82% on the Measuring Massive Multitask Language Understanding (MMLU) benchmark, which covers 16,000 questions from 57 academic disciplines.
āGPT-4o miniā is 60% cheaper than previous AI models like GPT-3.5 Turbo and has a context window of 128K tokens that supports text and image inputs.
Tokens are the building blocks used for processing information. The bigger an AI modelās context window, the more information it can process in a given prompt.
The new small AI model is replacing GPT-3.5 Turbo in ChatGPT for Free, Plus, and Team users starting today.
āGPT-4o miniā also leverages an instruction hierarchy method to improve the AI modelās ability to resist jailbreaks, prompt injections, and system prompt extractions.

āGPT-4o miniā outperforms small AI models like Googleās Gemini Flash and Anthropicās Claude Haiku at reasoning tasks that involve text and image inputs.

Key Details:
Built on the Einstein 1 Platform, Einstein Service Agent analyzes the full context of a customerās messages and then autonomously determines what actions to take.
It relies on GenAI algorithms trained on trusted business data to tailor customer conversations to the companyās brand voice, tone, and guidance.
AI agents perform tasks while chatbots provide information to help us make decisions.
While chatbots can perform functions like summarizing documents or answering questions, their context is limited to the prompting space.
AI agents can operate autonomously across websites, apps, and data types (e.g., text, image, audio, video, and code).
Chatbots enhance marginal productivity, but AI agents eliminate swaths of digital work, empowering us to perform high-order tasks.

Scientists developed an artificially intelligent tool that predicts whether patients with early signs of dementia will remain stable or develop Alzheimerās disease.
Dementia poses a significant healthcare challenge, affecting over 55 million people worldwide at an estimated annual cost of $820 billion. The number of cases is expected to 3X over the next 50 years.
The artificially intelligent tool analyzes data from routinely collected, noninvasive, low-cost cognitive assessments and structured Magnetic Reasoning Imaging (MRI).
The artificially intelligent tool was able to distinguish between patients with mild cognitive impairment and those who progressed to Alzheimerās disease within three years.
The artificially intelligent tool drastically reduced misdiagnosis rates by accurately identifying 82% of cases that progressed to Alzheimerās and 81% of cases that remained stable.
The scientists validated the artificially intelligent tool using six-year follow-up data tested across memory clinics in several countries to prove its global application.
