On GeneBench v1, which evaluates the ability of AI agents to navigate multi-stage scientific data analysis in genetic variation and quantitative biology, GPT-5.6 Sol achieved 26.94% accuracy with 17,084 output tokens. For context, it delivered more accuracy with less token usage than GPT-5.5, which achieved 22.94% accuracy with 24,490 output tokens.

On ExploitBench, which evaluates the ability of AI agents to weaponize high-severity software vulnerabilities within Google Chrome’s V8 JavaScript and WebAssembly engine, GPT-5.6 Sol achieved 73.5% capability coverage with 120,458 output tokens. In comparison, Claude Mythos 5 achieved 78.0% capability coverage with 602,260 output tokens, requiring roughly 5x more token usage for slightly better results.

OpenAI’s balancing operational efficiency with computational power, significantly reducing token usage while delivering comparable enterprise-grade intelligence. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman knows cost-conscious companies will seek out cheaper alternatives that effectively do the same thing. It’s a power play to undercut Anthropic’s high price tag and win back business customers.

A tumor isn’t just a mass of cancer cells. It exists with a complex cellular ecosystem of non-cancerous cells that actively interact to suppress the human body’s natural immune system. Luckily, DNA mutations produce abnormal proteins called “neoantigens,” which act as red flags to help the human body’s immune system distinguish cancer cells from healthy tissue and destroy the tumor. Unfortunately, a tumor’s complex cellular ecosystem actively evolves to hide these red flags.

MutationProjector was trained on genomic data from over 30,000 tumors across more than 10 solid cancer types to uncover tangible correlations between DNA mutations and tumor treatment effectiveness. In simple terms, it helps predict how a patient’s tumor will respond to different cancer treatments to identify targeted therapies that increase the patient’s likelihood of survival.

“Many cancer mutations are individually rare, which makes them difficult to study one at a time,” said JungHo Kong, Ph.D., Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Medicine. “By pretraining on a large collection of tumors and integrating molecular network knowledge, MutationProjector can detect patterns that would be easy to miss with conventional biomarker approaches.”

Following a cancer diagnosis, it’s increasingly common to administer genetic testing to guide cancer treatment options. But only 8% of cancer cases are paired with an approved targeted therapy. This technical breakthrough can unlock the therapeutic potential across the other 92% of cancer cases.
