⚙️OpenAI’s Five New Tools to Build AI Agents

OpenAI released five new tools to help developers build useful, reliable, and powerful AI Agents.
Key Details:
File Search: Allows AI Agents to retrieve relevant information from large documents.
Web Search: Provides AI Agents the ability to access up-to-date information from the Internet.
Computer Use: Enables AI Agents to navigate your computer autonomously.
Agents SDK: Supports building Multi-Agent Systems (MAS), where multiple AI Agents work collectively to perform complex tasks.
Response API: Combines these four new tools into a single API Call.
Why It’s Important:
An Application Programming Interface (API) acts as the messenger between software applications, while API Calls are the messages.
Without the Response API, developers would have to create tons of different API Calls within complex codebases to equip their AI Agents with these four new tools.

📦Deploying Thousands of Humanoid Robots

Figure AI CEO Brett Adcock announced that he’s preparing to deploy thousands of humanoid robots called Figure 02 (F.02) equipped with Helix.
Key Details:
Helix is a Vision-Language-Action Model (VLA) that allows F.02 to act and think like us in three ways:
See: Recognize objects like we do with our eyes.
Listen: Listen to instructions like we do with our ears.
Do: Perform movements like we do with our bodies.
Imagine a warehouse supervisor asking: “What’s the barcode on that box?” F.02 would See the barcode, Listen to the question, and Do it by reading the barcode aloud.
Helix also allows an F.02 to coordinate with another F.02 to tackle complex tasks that require teamwork.
Why It’s Important:
The ability of F.02 to See, Listen, and Do brings us closer to having humanoid robots that can truly learn and adapt on their own.
Labor Costs heavily influence the prices of Goods and Services. Efficiently deploying F.02 in warehouses could lower Labor Costs, reducing the prices of Goods and Services.

Y Combinator (YC) Managing Partner Jared Friedman recently shared that a quarter of the startup accelerator’s recent Startup Batch have over 95% of their codebases generated by AI. “It’s not like we funded a bunch of non-technical Founders.
