OpenAI recently introduced “Deep Research,” an AI Agent that generates detailed reports on any topic using ChatGPT.
Key Details:
“Deep Research” will find, analyze, and synthesize content across hundreds of websites to develop comprehensive summaries at the level of a Research Analyst.
It’s powered by “OpenAI o3,” a Reasoning Engine that deploys a Chain-of-Thought (CoT) technique to break down complex tasks into manageable steps.
“Deep Research” achieved 26.6% accuracy on Humanity’s Last Exam (HLE). This new benchmark consists of 3,000 multiple-choice and short-answer questions across dozens of subjects, including mathematics, humanities, and the natural sciences.
Why It’s Important:
“DeepSeek-R1” achieved 9.4% accuracy on HLE, showcasing how difficult this new benchmark is and how impressive “Deep Research” is.
“Deep Research” is built for engineering, finance, and science employees who need thorough, precise, and hyper-personalized research.

🚜AI Improves Crop Yield With Less Water

Google’s X Moonshot Factory unveiled Heritable Agriculture, a company leveraging AI models to improve crop yield.
Key Details:
Heritable Culture uses AI models to identify the best genetic traits for improving crop yield, nutrition, and resilience with less water.
They collect data on a plant’s genetic information (i.e., Genomes) and physical traits (i.e., Phenotypes) like flower color, leaf shape, or seed size.
The AI models learn to recognize patterns and relationships between Genomes and Phenotypes to identify which plant pairings will produce offspring with desired traits like drought resistance.
Why It’s Important:
As the world’s population grows, we must produce more food to feed everyone. Increasing crop yield means more food can be produced within the same farmland.
“Understanding those Genomes allows us to breed crops for lower water requirements and higher carbon storage capacity,” said Dr. Brad Zamft, CEO of Heritable Agriculture.

🗺️OpenAI’s New Trademark Hints at Smart Jewelry

Last Friday, OpenAI applied for a trademark that lists glasses, remotes, laptops, headphones, and smart jewelry for “AI-assisted interaction and simulation.” It also mentions “user-programmed humanoid robots.”
OpenAI is working with legendary Apple Designer Jony Ive to build AI-powered devices that “create less socially disruptive experiences.” Ive’s company, LoveFrom, acquired 20 former Apple employees, including Tang Yew T., Lead Designer of the iPhone and Apple Watch.
OpenAI’s new Hardware Director, Caitlin Kalinowski, also recently posted two new job listings:
Mechanical Product Engineer: Designs motors, gears, and actuators (i.e., “muscles”) for robots.
Systems Integration Electrical Engineer: Helps robots “perceive” and “interact” with the physical world.
It seems like OpenAI has big plans to build “general-purpose,” “adaptive,” and “versatile” robots that operate in “dynamic,” “real-world” settings.
