AI RESEARCH
šVirtual Rat With an AI Brain?!
Google DeepMind researchers and Harvard scientists created a virtual rodent with an AI brain to study how animals control their bodies.
Leveraging high-resolution data recorded from real rats, they created a biomechanically realistic digital rat with an AI brain to control the rodentās body.
The AI brainās activity patterns mimicked real rodents engaged in similar behaviors, capturing the core principles of a rodentās movements and muscle control relative to brain function.
These results demonstrate how virtual rodents can help interpret the structure of neural activity across behaviors and relate it to theoretical principles of motor control.
This āVirtual Neuroscienceā method could revolutionize neuroscience and improve robotic control systems.
