🚗Tesla’s New AI Supercomputer
Tesla recently launched a $300M AI supercomputer to advance Elon Musk’s vision of autonomous vehicles.
Key Details:
This new machine is tailored to optimize AI processes and enhance Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology.
Tesla plans on investing $4B to train AI models over the next two years.
Oppenheimer analyst Rick Schafer explained that Tesla’s system “is more powerful than the world’s third-highest-performing supercomputer.”
This supercomputer contains 10,000 Nvidia H100 GPUs with 340 FP64 PFLOPS for technical computing and 39.58 INT8 ExaFLOPS for AI applications.
Why It’s Important:
With Nvidia facing supply limitations, Tesla diversified their approach with a strategic investment in Dojo, a proprietary supercomputer that operates in tandem with Nvidia H100 GPUs.
This computational infrastructure gives Tesla an edge in processing vast databases for real-world AI training scenarios.

👷Voxel’s Computer Vision Tool For Workplace Safety
Voxel is an AI startup that enhances safety and operations in construction zones. Recently, they raised $12M in strategic funding led by manufacturer Rite-Hite.
Key Details:
Voxel connects with your existing security cameras to automate risk management to help build a data-driven safety culture.
It can identify hazards, near-miss vehicle collisions, blocked exits, spills, perimeter detection, and no pedestrian zones. Once identified, the system sends real-time alerts to on-site personnel.
This AI model even tracks Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure hard hats, gloves, vests, and bump caps are worn correctly in work zones.
Early adopters have achieved a 77% reduction in injuries and an 80% reduction in lost time, resulting in $1.1M in savings.
CEO Alex Senemar is leading 50 employees with previous experience from Google, Tesla, and Uber.
Why It’s Important:
Most companies still rely on manual supervision, spot checks, and after-the-fact incident reporting. However, these methods overlook near-miss incidents without calculating the risks of future events.
Voxel automates this process with video-based coaching and analytics that safety teams can use to enact meaningful safety changes.
🧰Google Releases Tons of AI Tools
During the Google Next conference in San Francisco, Google unveiled several new AI tools and models to enhance existing product offerings.
Key Details:
Google’s Could Service added 20 new prebuilt AI models for enterprises, with customers accessing third-party systems like Meta’s LLaMa-2 and Anthropic’s Claude 2.
SynthID, an AI watermarking tool, distinguishes between AI-generated images and Deepfake photos.
Google granted open access for cloud customers to next-gen TPU v5e AI training chips for generative AI and LLMs.
Google’s Duet AI assistant is available across major workspace apps for $30 per month (per user) for enterprise plans.
Significant updates to Google’s cloud-based Vertex AI platform, like PaLM 2 upgrades, enhanced code generation, and conversational models.
