Elon Musk announced that Tesla will reveal a fully autonomous Robotaxi ridesharing service on August 8th, 2024.
Key Details:
On Friday, Reuters reported that Teslaās inexpensive entry-level car was no longer being built, disappointing investors relying on the project to fuel company growth.
Musk quickly called the Reuters report āa lie,ā and supporters highlighted that Tesla shares fell nearly 5%, claiming market manipulation by the media.
Musk hinted that Teslaās entry-level $25,000 car and the Robotaxi service were built on the same platform. However, the company shifted more resources to the Robotaxi efforts after the FSD V12.3.3 update achieved impressive real-world results.
Tesla recently surpassed a billion miles driven by its Full Self-Driving (FSD) vehicles.
Why Itās Important:
Reuters forced Musk to reveal Teslaās Robotaxi roadmap to rebound the 5% loss in share value. This roadmap hints toward Tesla pioneering emerging markets such as driverless ridesharing.
Muskās xAI startup and X platform provide sentiment analysis, real-time data, and AI research to enhance Teslaās network of cameras, ultrasonic sensors, and radar.

AI RESEARCH
šMore Agents = Smarter AI Systems?
Cornell researchers discovered that the performance of Large Language Models (LLMs) scales with the number of agents when leveraging a sampling-and-voting method.
LLMs excel in many areas but struggle with complex tasks requiring precise reasoning. Recent solutions focus on sophisticated ensemble methods or complex frameworks.
Cornell researchers created a sampling-and-voting method that generates multiple outputs from LLMs and uses majority voting to determine the final response.
The agents tackle different components of the prompt independently. Then, the answers are combined using the sampling-and-voting method to determine the best overall solution.
Smaller LLMs matched or outperformed larger LLMs when scaling up the number of agents. For example, when using Metaās Llama 2, the 13 billion parameter version beat the 70 billion parameter version on specific tasks.
