January 27th: Microsoft invests $10 billion in OpenAI.
March 17th: OpenAI launches the GPT-4 model.
March 30th: Elon Musk advocates halting AI systems that are more powerful than GPT-4.
April 17th: Elon Musk kickstarts xAI startup.
July 3rd: Humane unveils the “Ai Pin” to replace smartphones.
July 6th: Inflection AI designs an $880M AI supercomputer.
November 6th: Elon Musk’s xAI launches Grok.

BotBuilt, a startup revolutionizing construction with flexible robotic systems, aims to translate a building plan into a series of machine commands to tackle construction challenges.
Key Details:
The median household income for home buyers leaped from $88,000 to $107,000 last year, underscoring the increasing payment required to purchase a home.
BotBuilt is embracing technology to lower costs and mitigate the negative impacts of homebuilding.
BotBuilt’s robotics don’t produce homes from scratch. Instead, it prioritizes components of construction framing by piecing together walls, floor trusses, and roofing.
Robotics engineer Barrett Ames explained: “BotBuilt empowers builders by helping them increase their volume and margin by leveraging plentiful, high-quality, and affordable robotic labor.”
BotBuilt has scaled the company by raising $12.4 million in a seed funding round by Ambassador Supply, Y Combinator, and Shadow Ventures.
Why It’s Important:
The startup has built nine homes with over $75,000 in revenue. BotBuilt’s robotic wall panel and truss plants are projected to operate at 50% margins, delivering significant cost savings to builders.
Ames estimates BotBuilt will achieve $15,000 in revenue per house of wall panels built: “We already have ten builders with over 2,000 homes and apartment units in our pipeline.”
