Anthropic’s Safeguards Research Team developed “Constitutional Classifiers,” a new method to defend AI models against Jailbreaks.
Key Details:
LLMs are trained with safety measures and ethical guidelines to prevent them from generating harmful content. However, LLMs are still vulnerable to Jailbreaks: inputs designed to bypass safety guardrails and produce harmful outputs.
For example, common Jailbreaks include modifying the style of an input like uSiNg uNuSuAl cApItALiZaTiOn.
Here’s a simple breakdown of how it works:
“Constitution”: A set of principles that define the LLM’s desired behavior.
Classifiers: Filters that analyze an LLM’s inputs and outputs.
Why It’s Important:
When exposed to more than 10,000 Jailbreaks, it blocked 95.6% of them.
183 Bug Bounty Hunters spent over 3,000 hours trying to bypass “Constitutional Classifiers” for a $15,000 reward, but none succeeded.

OpenAI and SoftBank Group Inc. announced a partnership to launch “Cristal Intelligence,” a framework that provides advanced Enterprise AI solutions through a tailored version of ChatGPT.
To accelerate the deployment of “Cristal Intelligence,” OpenAI and SoftBank Group Inc. agreed to establish a Joint Venture (JV) called SB OpenAI Japan. This JV will market “Cristal Intelligence” exclusively to major companies in Japan.
